Dentures are removable artificial teeth worn to replace missing teeth or restore severe loss in teeth tissue using materials similar in color and tissue to teeth. They are named as crown (coating) when applied to a single tooth and as bridge when applied to more than two teeth.
Material Options
Crowns and bridges are produced from different materials according to aesthetic and functional needs. Today, metal base porcelain, zirconium porcelain and all ceramic coating are frequently used in fixed prostheses.
Fitting, and Long-Term Care
After the dentist decides on the suitable prosthesis material, the patient’s teeth are ground and then the analogue and digital measurements are taken and sent to a dental laboratory. After necessary changes are made during the trials, the most suitable prosthesis adhesive is chosen, and the prosthesis is fixed onto the teeth. The treatment is finalized by giving the patient necessary information about oral care. When the material used, the harmony with the teeth and oral care are good enough, the prostheses can serve for a long time.
